Baker’s Corner Lemon Pound cake

Image
Pound cakes are rich cakes usually made in a loaf pan or a bundt pan. They are called pound cakes because they generally have a pound of flour, butter, eggs, and sugar. I found this box cake mix at ALDI and decided to try it out. If you would like to try this recipe the front and back of the box will be shown below with the other pictures.   Appearance-  It does bake faster than the recipe says though so mine got a little burnt on the sides and bottom.  Taste- This cake tasted amazing! It was very rich and the glaze went perfectly with the cake. I would rate the taste 5 of 5 stars. Difficulty- This was easy to make as I expected. Only 4 ingredients and 4 steps (including the glaze). The box has clear instructions that are easy to follow. I would rate the difficulty beginner.  Overall- Overall I would rate this recipe 5 out of 5 stars!                    ...

Copycat McDonald's Sweet Tea

Image
Sweet tea from McDonald's is, in my opinion, the best drink ever! It's sweet but not too sweet and is a great treat to quench your thirst. But sometimes, you don't to go all the way to McDonald's just for 1 drink. So why not make a whole pitcher full at home! The recipe says it makes 6 servings, but when I made it I made more than 6 servings. If you would like to try this recipe, click here. Appearance- Tea can really only look one way beside the color . This sweet tea looks as good as it tastes! It's a darkish gold-brown color. I would rate the appearance 5 of 5 stars.  Taste- This sweet tea really does taste like McDonald's sweet tea! It's the perfect balance of tea and sugar. I would rate the taste 5 of 5 stars. Difficulty- For being so tasty, this is surprisingly easy! But you do have to use the stove so I would rate the difficulty intermediate.  Overall- Overall I would rate this recipe 5 out of 5 stars!         ...

Making Ice Cream in an Ice Cream Ball

Image
Making ice cream at home is a great way to get your favorite frozen treat without having to buy it! There are many ways to make homemade ice cream but the way I tried was making it in a ball. You basically add cream and sugar and flavoring into one side and ice and rock salt in the other. Click here for the ice cream ball I used. I recommend watching the video if you're interested.  Appearance- After rolling the ball around for about 20 minutes most of the ice cream was still in liquid form. Even after it was refrigerated it was still a bit soupy. But in my opinion adding whipped cream and chocolate syrup helped. I would rate the appearance 3 of 5 stars.   Taste- I made vanilla ice cream but added a bit of almond extract. It tasted really good and creamy, but I may have added too much extract and the taste focused more on that than the vanilla part. I would rate the taste 4 of 5 stars.  Difficulty- The ice cream ball leaked a bit and was very messy when taki...
