Making Ice Cream in an Ice Cream Ball
Making ice cream at home is a great way to get your favorite frozen treat without having to buy it! There are many ways to make homemade ice cream but the way I tried was making it in a ball. You basically add cream and sugar and flavoring into one side and ice and rock salt in the other. Click here for the ice cream ball I used. I recommend watching the video if you're interested.
Appearance- After rolling the ball around for about 20 minutes most of the ice cream was still in liquid form. Even after it was refrigerated it was still a bit soupy. But in my opinion adding whipped cream and chocolate syrup helped. I would rate the appearance 3 of 5 stars.
Taste- I made vanilla ice cream but added a bit of almond extract. It tasted really good and creamy, but I may have added too much extract and the taste focused more on that than the vanilla part. I would rate the taste 4 of 5 stars.
Difficulty- The ice cream ball leaked a bit and was very messy when taking the ice cream out. It was hard to scrape the ice cream off the sides. Besides that it was pretty simple but does require multiple people. I would rate the difficulty intermediate.
Overall- Overall I would rate making ice cream in an ice cream ball 4 out of 5 stars.
